Our Pathway and Programs
This page explains how the Franklin football pathway works, the role of Franklin United FC, and the development programs available for players who want additional opportunities. Participation in Franklin United programmes is optional and designed to complement community football.
Franklin United programs are designed for players who want additional development opportunities. They should enjoy football, but this is not the only pathway. Every player’s journey is different.
Our Development Programs
Franklin United offers a range of optional development programmes for players who want additional opportunities alongside their community football.
Player Development Program (PDP)
Ages 6–13 | Mondays, Terms 1–4 | $135 per term
Skill Centre Program (SCP)
Ages 10–13 | Mondays, Terms 1–4 | $135 per term
Holiday Programs
RH3 Camps (Ricky Herbert coaching curriculum)
Ages 8–16 | April, July and September/October | Cost TBC
Franklin United Holiday Program
Ages 6–13 | January, April, July and September/October | $45 per session (discount for multi-day bookings)
Skill Centre and Academy Football (Ages 10–17)
Franklin United operates both Skill Centre and Academy programs for players seeking a higher level of football.
The Franklin United Academy is aiming to have provisional TDP status for the start of the 2026 season.
Teams and Player Placement
Franklin United focuses on development rather than fixed teams. Players may move between teams during the season under the guidance of qualified coaches if this best supports their development.

Travel and Training Locations
Travel is a necessary part of development football, particularly for players aspiring to compete against some of the top teams in the country. While most matches are currently within the greater Auckland region, this may change as Franklin United progresses into higher leagues.
